Daniel Carroll is a native Texan pharmacist and currently lives just outside of Austin. He began his tenure as Executive Director of the Texas State Board of Pharmacy in October 2023 after decades of pharmacy and leadership experience. His pharmacy journey began as an Air Force pharmacy technician, and throughout his pharmacist career, Dr. Carroll has practiced extensively in hospital settings. He has assumed several hospital pharmacy leadership roles serving as Director of Pharmacy at Citizens Medical Center in Victoria, Texas; Cedar Park Regional; and Seton Family of Hospitals in Austin, Texas. Most recently, Dr. Carroll served as the CEO of Northwest Hills Surgical Hospital in Austin, Texas.
Dr. Carroll has been active in his community as a volunteer pharmacist, a mentor to students interested in healthcare careers, a healthcare topics presenter, and has been involved with several pharmacy-focused committees. Dr. Carroll obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
